I looked online for possible repair solutions when the range would not turn off. I found that the membrane switch goes bad on these models. I looked online for available parts and Appliance Parts Pros had the item in stock. I ordered and it was here the next day. After receiving the part, again, I looked online for how to replace the membrane switch and youtube video walked me through the steps. It took about an hour and now it works like new. Read more

I went to the Appliance Parts Pros website and spoke with Shawn in customer service via the chat option. He was very helpful and suggested I order the thermostat for my stove. It arrived in about a week and I installed it the same day. It was a very easy install with the exception of the wiring harnesses didn’t match so I had to splice the wires together. Looked for solution on YouTube, found the possible solution. Looked up part number on AppliancePartsPros. Ordered it came in two days. Took of back, removed old board. Put in new board. plugged it in. Put back together. Worked fine. 1 hour start to finish. Cost was at least 2/3rds less than a new gas range. Read more

Easiest fix in the world! Took a painters putty knife and pried off the panel. Panel popped off and iI just replaced it. Make sure you turn the power off first before you start your repair. Read more

I read about the particular error code on blogs online. Most people agreed that it was the keypad membrane that was not working. I have never done any repairs on an appliance, but YouTube had great videos of someone changing out that particular part. I could have ordered the part for less through an appliance supply store locally, but they did not offer any return option on electronics. A very common problem with the GE oven is the dreaded F7 error code. I purchased the control board as well as the keypad and replaced both. The error code could have been either part but since I saw a lot of grease, I chose to change out both even though I isolated the problem to the keypad only. By resetting the error first by hitting the clock button on the keypad, turning off the power,disconnecting the keypad, then turning back on the power if the code doesn't come back it's the keypad. ... After reading online I decided to attempt installing the control panel. For this particular model, I removed 4 screws at top inside (2 center are longer fyi). There is one more holding the panel in the center, but the front door panel needs to be removed. There are screws all along the inside. Remove those and slide the door panel up and out. So, this is a common problem, and the fourth time I have done this for someone in by neighborhood. Takes about 10 minutes, and requires very little skill. You simply unscrew the oven from it's mount points, pull it out a little bit, remove the four sheet metal screws holding the panel in place, unplug electronics, and plug the new panel in. Ordered the part on line, rec. in record time, open the front panel of the dishwasher, unplugged the cable, replaced with new one by plugging into the connector. Help was needed only to hold the panels for lining up the screw hols, and secure couple screws on either side. Max. 15 minutes, from the time of opening the package.
