I unplugged the machine. I removed the two fill hoses. I removed the top of the washer case by removing 3 tamper proof screws from the back ( I used my set of "star" head drivers), sliding the top back 1 inch and lifting the top off. I marked the 4 wires with 1 thru 4 stripes with a marker for ID, then pulled the 4 wires off the landing terminals. I replaced both the solenoid (part of the inlet valve kit) and the pressure sensor. Online research suggested my intermittent issue with the cold water fill being just a trickle and then causing an error was likely due to one or both of those two parts failing. Since they are in the same spot it was suggested (and I agree) that it is best to replace both at the same time. Cycle would complete but dishes weren't clean (not even really wet) and soap wasn't dissolving. Could hear fill at start but maybe not spraying or filling again in cycle. Thought it was the control board, but actually this was not the error. Replaced the control board and same problem arose, only new control board version actually stopped cycle with message that dishwasher couldn't fill. Removed water out of basin, down to the last inch.. Watched water rise slowly, and felt temperature, warm. This told me it was supply water. Ordered replacement part, two days just as mentioned, Removed as per video. Also choose to replace the waste line check valve, to affordable not too. GE Top Loading Washer, slow drip leak from top of tub when off; ordered triple water valve. Removed 3 hex screws behind top control panel (in back); removed 2 rear hex screws on back of control panel. Removed hoses and plug. As you move panel forward, its lower tabs slide sideways in order to remove/roll panel forward. Unplug hot and cold wire harness leads. Unscrew 2 Phillips head screws. • Will not drain

It is very simple to fix. All the blogs recommend replacement of this part but do not explain why. This is a normally open check valve that permits the water from inside the dishwasher to drain out, either once it gets too high or just general splash. When the machine drains the pump comes on and the check valve closes. If the check valve is damaged or worn (like mine was) some of the water can pump back into the machine. Dishwasher washer would not drain after hearing glass-like particles during the drain cycle despite trying to clean the cylinder filter. Originally suspected the drain motor was damaged. Swapped out with a new valve, took about 2 minutes and just a small nut driver (crescent wrench, socket or even pliers would have worked fine). Easiest repair I've done. Read more
