I had never worked on a washing machine before but after watching the online videos I felt like I could do the repair. I was almost positive it was the Mode Shifter and Shaft Assembly that was bad. I could hear the bearing making a grinding noise when I turned the tub by hand. I ordered the part I needed plus additional parts that could be an issue later such as a drive belt, tub bearing, tub seal, tub nut, split ring, etc; Preventive maintenance that would keep from having to tear it all... I ordered the valve from Appliance Parts--it arrived promptly. I replaced the faulty valve with the new valve and now washer works like new. Read more

The washer would try to start. The door would lock, but then would get stuck in the phase of start-up where the drum needs to roll around (I assume so it knows what's in there). It would sit and think about it for a couple minutes and then give the error codes. I replaced both the solenoid (part of the inlet valve kit) and the pressure sensor. Online research suggested my intermittent issue with the cold water fill being just a trickle and then causing an error was likely due to one or both of those two parts failing. Since they are in the same spot it was suggested (and I agree) that it is best to replace both at the same time. I ordered what I thought were the necessary parts from appliancepartspro.com as my washing machine wouldn't spin. I should have watched there videos before I began as I took the whole cabinet off and everything and after receiving the parts and watching their video realized I didn't need to do so, at that point in time. LG Washing Machine WM3885HCCA I searched the Appliance Parts Pros "Get Repair Help" tab, typed in the LG washing machine model number (WM3885HCCA), watched videos and searched for the parts shown on the diagrams of my LG washing machine. • Leaks water

Noticed large banging in the washing machine when transitioning from low to high speed spin. Also would get a slight smell of burnt rubber. Did an online search and best guess was the spider arm assy was broken. Ordered the spider arm assy, the rear tub seal and the tub seal. Make sure you get blue threadlocker - you'll use it multiple times during the reassembly. The washer is 9 years old and is heavily used. The repair was fairly straight foward as shown in the video. However, driving the shaft from the bearings took some doing. It required replacing the use of the board with a spare bolt and a 2lb hand sledge. (having an air hammer as reserve, also not a bad idea) I rated this reair as a "1" however I've been an auto mechanic for 40 years. I ordered the tub seal and stem seal kits along with the much needed spanner wrench. After viewing the video online several times and taking notes along the way I was ready to tackle the repair. After taking everything apart, I cleaned all areas thoroughly then addressed the rusty areas and mineral deposits found in the tub. Soaking the tub in vinegar and baking soda overnight helped loosen the built up deposits enough so I could carefully scrape them off with a spatula. This was very time... Read more
