I replaced the stirrer fan cover and fan, which had some carbon and slight burn marks on it. It was difficult to remove the fan cover as it did not rotate. I had to pry it off with a flat blade screwdriver, breaking the plastic tabs on the cover (which was being discarded anyway). Discovered that one of the rear tub support rods (which are different than the front support rods), had permanently compressed the internal spring, requiring replacement. I also replaced the plastic rod support socket to be sure that all the components would be updated. Removing the front panel allowed me to also remove the top lid panel, enabling access to the rear rod without completely disconnecting the machine & accessing the rear panel.
