The blower wheel center was worn down and spinning freely on shaft. Removing front covers, controls and brackets gave access to blower, which front half came off removing screws. (One screw underneath bracket) Pushed new blower on. (It's keyed and has small tabs that line up with groove on shaft). Installed clamp, reassembled and tested. Don't forget to pull the plug out before working on any appliance. Read more

Emptied the contents of the freezer into coolers. Removed the rack shelves. Listened when the unit was running to see if I could hear where the noise was coming from. UNPLUGGED the freezer!! The noise seemed to be coming from the back inside so I took out 4 Phillips screws in the back that was easily accessed. I used a set of ring pliers to remove the old retaining ring, then spread the plastic ribs around the fan motor shaft with a small flat bladed screwdriver to ease removal of the old fan blade. I reversed the process to replace the blade, gently tapping a socket from my socket wrench set placed over the motor shaft and ribs with a small rubber mallet. I bought a new cooling motor and blade and installed it, everything seems to be working fine now, did not take that long to fix, maybe about 30 minutes, the longest part was trying to get the old fan off the old motor, finally had to cut it off with bolt cutters, I have a 12 year old LG Refrigerator 26930 double door, if you are handy its not that hard. It was a relatively easy fix - if you know how to take the dryer apart. If you don't, there are plenty of YouTube videos explaining how. Make sure you find your model. Since the wheel had separated from the nut, it wasn't quite as easy and holding the shaft and loosening the wheel. I had to remove (destroy) the wheel first. I replaced the dryer motor. I followed the repair video on the Appliance Parts Pro site, with a few modifications to the procedure. I loosened the control panel and flipped it forward to improve access to the wiring connectors. I also loosened the front panel and tipped it forward before disconnecting the door switch as there wasn't enough space to disconnect the switch otherwise. Changed out the Fan. Oven turns all heaters on to quickly get to temperature - the sensor probe is next to the broil heater - it quickly senses the broil element heat and claims a false oven temperature and "reaches" set temperature at the sensor probe. Changing the fan causes the air to circulate during this time - so the entire oven heats up. The Fan is supposed run in Bake mode during heat up.
