I checked the water supply to the solenoid valve and it was okay, but no water was getting passed the valve. I checked the 115 vac signal from the ice maker to the valve and it was present. Unfortunately I did not know to depress the white fitting on the outlet of the valve to release the line to the ice maker so I cut it, and had to purchase a replacement. I purchased this part and was super impressed with how fast it arrived. Rather than try to puzzle out how to replace the hoses on my own, I did a quick Google search and found this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlzd3jTYBNc#t=112 It step by step shows how to pull the dishwasher apart to replace the hose. I thought it was relatively easy, and no longer have to deal with leaks while the dishwasher is running. Read more

Had to cut the old line at the water storage tank and attach the new one using the connector fitting from the kit. The new line was run on the outside of the refrigerator to reach the solenoid valve on the opposite side. The is no route within the refrig other than under the compressor/motor. Not the best situation but I secured the line with cable clamps. Read more

I replaced the pump and motor assembly. I also proactively replaced the fill hose while I had the dishwasher out since it was decades old. GE now only sells a generic kit. There were about 7 different sets of directions for different groups of models, and myriad adapters and other parts to support all of them. I wish GE had provided a way of looking up which instructions to use based on model # as that would have saved me a lot of trouble sorting out the instructions, but I didn't find one.... Read more

Ordering replacement parts is cheaper and easier than calling a plumber to investigate, so it was the worth the try, and the video showed me that I could do it myself. Of course, getting the old threaded parts to budge was the hardest part. But I replaced the water inlet valve and the aging fill hose -- no more leak! Read more

The impeller shaft on the drain pump snapped in half. I ordered a new drain pump and replaced it in about 20 minutes. Shipping was quick and moderately priced. Read more
