I ordered a new solenoid and when it arrived, I installed it as follows: I cut the power to the refrigerator. I then pulled off the rubber boot (and it's plastic frame) that covers the water switch. Then I removed the bezel that covers the front of the ice maker controls by pulling it straight out. Then I removed the four screws found on the assembly under the bezel. Ordered a new flood switch and activation stem from Aplliance Parts Pros.com. Order was delivered in about 3 days. Installed new switch and stem in about 15 min. Removed front kicker panel with two screws, the switch was just inside the panel secured with two screws. remove the electrical connector, removed screws, replace the two new parts..put the screws back in place and ran the washer...no overflows. The new GE washers come with a fill valve that has a 1/8" hole for the hot water inlet. This is probably for energy savings or something. So, I installed the older style GE fill valve on my new machine. Since the older style has larger inlet holes for both hot and cold water, it fixed my problem easily. I found I could "rap" on my broiler/oven control valve and the oven would light, so I ordered a new control valve. Installing valve was not difficult except for having to lay on the floor and work in a small space.
