Kalvin for Model Number SHX55RL5UC/64 I have frequently run into situations where rodents have eaten through the clear corrugated DW discharge line. It is usually a straight forward hose replacement. This time however, the dishwasher is not able to come out due to a tile floor installed after the fact and granite counter tops that will not budge. I have opened up the side of the sink base cabinet and can visualize the drain connection to the pump. Unfortunately, I cannot get the spring clamp off. The angle and limited space are not cooperating. Does there exist a screw on the hose repair coupling that I can use in this application? I have used this type of fitting on pool cleaning vacuum hoses and they work great.
Answer Hello Kalvin, I'm sorry but being an appliance technician, I do not understand the apparatus to which you are referring. In this case, there may have to be some tile removed from the floor in front it to access the dishwasher and the tile relaid after the repair is completed. When a tile floor is added, the dishwasher is normally pulled and tile is laid under the unit also. This makes it possible for the unit to be pulled for service if necessary. Read More...
