Tony I purchased part number AP3767226 in anticipation that I may have a faulty coil (symtoms indicated this possibility). When I got inside the Bosch Dryer, I found the "thermal fuse" on the side of the heating element chamber to be tripped/open. I checked the heating element, this thermal fuse/breaker/ and the small ntc sensor for continuity and all were in tact (after re-setting the thermal fuse). Questions: What casues this "fuse" to overload/pop-out and what should be checked prior to re-installing? Should this fuse be re-used? Is it sold separetly? There is one on the side of the heating element unit I ordered. Thanks, Tony
Answer Hello Tony, A "thermal fuse" can only be opened by high temperature. This is caused by a restriction in the exhaust duct98% of the time and bad drum seals or other seals in the unit that allows the heated air to recirculate into the unit instead of getting the room temperature air that the unit was designed to get for cooling the units' electrical and mechanical parts.
