The Oven Control Board is an OEM part for Frigidaire ovens and ranges. This digital circuit board plays a crucial role in regulating and monitoring oven functions. It controls cooking modes, temperature settings, timers, and sensors that ensure safe, consistent performance.

Causes of a bad control board can include power surges, or natural component failure over time. Electronic boards have limited lifespans based on usage.

Symptoms of a bad oven control board include:

  • The oven failing to turn on or heat properly
  • Faulty or inconsistent temperature readings
  • Error codes appearing on the display
  • Buttons/dials not responding as expected

This genuine Frigidaire OEM replacement part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore gas ranges.

Ed for Model Number Kenmore 790.77553805

Hi, we recently bought this Kenmore Elite dual fuel range from a private party. Noticed that a couple of the blue LED segments were out on the clock display, and a couple red segments of the temperature display and the blue rectangle around the convection fan indicator were flickering, even when the oven was off. However, all functions we tested seemed to work, and we baked a few times. Then the range started to beep and show "ERR" after getting up to temp. I inspected the control board and found that at some point in the past, the bake terminal had overheated badly, melting part of the connector and causing burn marks on the board and bake relay. There was also slight browning around the P5/L1 terminal. I removed the board and separated it, and found that the bake terminal was actually a little loose and the burn went through to the other side and delaminated the circuit tracks from the board -- how the bake element was working at all I don't know. We don't think that the burn occurred when we were using it, because we never smelled burning plastic. I am willing to replace the control board ... once. Reading here about people who've had repeat problems makes me worry, what else should I check? I have tested the bake and broil elements and find no shorts to ground and about 22 ohms resistance; they also physically look good. Temp probe tests about right for resistance. As I have the board out, I can't test voltage from the power supply, but will do so when I get the new board. What was the likely cause of the burned terminal and how can I prevent a recurrence? I saw nothing obvious on the board to cause the flickering display -- could it be a sign of flaky power or anything else related / unrelated to the terminal burn? Thank you for any advice.

Answer

Ed, a loose terminal connection can cause many issues with a control board as the electricity can arc from the terminal to the connector. This will cause the burning and heating to occur. Based on the information provided, it sounds like the main control board 316577072 would be the only issue.
