Tom for Model Number GE GFSS6KKYESS I took the wires off the overload and the relay starter for my GE refrigerator compressor. I try to put the wires back to the overload and the start relay. Please help me put these wires back to the right terminals on the overload and the relay starter. I have red wire, blue wire, and blue+pink wire. Why the compressor gets too hot? maybe the overload part is dead? Thank you for the great help.
Answer Tom, The red wire is your common and wired to the overload protector and is the single pin on the compressor. The blue wire is the run winding on the compressor and the blue/pink is your start winding. If you do a resistance test on the pins of the compressor from start to common and run to common the start winding will be higher than the run winding so you can tell the difference. Read More...
