Jeff for Model Number Frigidaire Appliance FPHS2699KF0 My problem is the refrigerator seems to being having a problem trying to "kick" on. When it does you can hear it going through a power cycle several times in a row in a matter of a few seconds. During which time the Power failure light and "beeping" sounds go off on the front panel. Kind of like when you loose power in your home and then it comes back on and you have to reset the panel on the unit. Which I do but I need to do this several times during the day. Could this be the compressor run capacitor?
Answer Jeff, If the compressor is constantly trying to cycle then you would want to do an amp draw and see what kind of amperage there is when it starts up. If it is drawing anything over 9 amps then the compressor would most likely be the cause. If it starts but shuts down after a couple of seconds then it sounds like the start relay may not be kicking over to the run winding or the run winding on the compressor is faulty. Read More...
