Steven for Model Number Frigidaire FRS26R4CB0 The other night my frig made a electrical short noise and I could smell an electrical fault (very faint). I thought it was the ice maker because the frig still seem to be working. The next morning the frig wasn't cooling. I took the back off of the frig and it looked as if my compressor capacitor had some damage. There was a brown residue around it and below it. I feel like the capacitor is bad do you agree? Also I notice the part (AP4315853) is rated at 220 vac and my frig is 120vac. Is this part compatible with my frig? Thank you for your help!!
Answer Steven, Yes the 5304464438 Compressor Run Capacitor is compatible with your refrigerator. The capacitor is designed to operate on both 110 vac 60 Hz. and 220 vac 50 Hz. power supply systems. If the brown residue appeared or felt oily, then we'd have to agree that the capacitor was at fault, but now you'll also need to check the power supply to the outlet/refrigerator to make sure you have a grounded, polarized 120 VAC power.
