Moises for Model Number FGUS2642LF1 My refrigerator (both freezer and refrigerator) seem to have trouble staying cold throughout the day, especially during the summer. It hardly ever reaches the temperature settings during the day. It only reaches and stays at the set temperature's overnight. Could it be the compressor run capacitor?
Answer Hello Moises, You should make sure the condenser fan is running at full speed and the air flow is not blocked by lint/dust on the condenser coils. If good, remove the rear wall of the freezer compartment to view the frost pattern. It should be even from top to bottom. If there is a clump of ice at the top of the coils, this indicates a Freon loss and will need a Freon certified technician for the sealed system diagnosis and repair. As a note, if the unit is in a garage or on a porch, (especially in the sun), it should not be expected to maintain proper temperatures since the hot coils must be in an atmosphere cool enough for the unit to operate properly, (75° to 80°F is as warm an atmosphere as the unit can tolerate for normal operating temperatures to occur).
