Sep I have a display refrigerator that stopped cooling. The set up is a 1/5 Hp compressor, a 10uF run capacitor, and a condenser fan. I couldn't hear if the compressor was running so I manually started it and it ran and began cooling but when I put the fan back into play the temperature starts to rise again. Is it possible that the compressor is just not spinning fast enough?? The compressor does get real hot when the fan is not in line but the fridge temperature does drop significantly, but when fan is put back in line the compressor cools down but the fridge temperature rises. Any ideas?? Thanks.
Answer Sep, The fan should have no bearing on the refrigerator rising temps as long as the compressor is running. The capacitor on the compressor is just a trickle run capacitor in which it would not cause this issue and the only other thing that would potentially cause this is if the compressor is not starting on its own would be a bad relay.
