David for Model Number WR55X24064 A couple of weeks ago, I woke up to find that the freezer door to my side by side fridge was not closed properly. I looked inside and there was frost all over, yet it was still blowing cold air. I closed the door and it immediately turned off and never came back on. After a bit of on line research, I tested the capacitor for continuity and there was none, so I replaced it with a new one. It worked great. Well, it’s been a couple of weeks and the exact same thing happened. The door was left partially open, it was frosty inside and as soon as I closed it, the fan turned off. Checked the capacitor again and it was damaged. I’m trying to understand why this would keep damaging my capacitor or could it be another underlying issue. Do you have any idea what that could possibly be? I will add that I did not replace the relay to which it connects to (the one with 3 holes that plugs directly into compressor). Thank you for your assistance.
Answer David, It would be more likely that there is another issue such as a start device that may have failed rather than the run capacitor. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, December 5, 2018
