Jimmy for Model Number FFU21M7HW (freezer upright) After 1 and 1/2 years I just defrosted this upright freezer. Afterwards, I turned the unit on and after a few days (3 to 5) it started to produce a humming noise every 3 to 5 seconds. The unit still works and this noise stops only for a period of 5 minutes or less. What part do you think I need to replace to have the noise removed? Thanks!
Answer Hello Jimmy, This sounds like you have a bad start relay. Unplug the unit and slide the start device off of the side of the compressor. If it rattles when you shake it, the ceramic disk in the start relay has shattered and the start device 216954236 requires replacement. Read More...
