By: Frigidaire
Part Number: OEM9632469
Manufacturer Part Number: 240507202

This ice container deflector attaches to the ice bucket assembly and guides cubes toward the dispenser chute. Replacing a cracked or missing deflector restores proper ice flow and helps keep ice from spilling inside the freezer during dispensing.

  • Directs ice from the bucket into the dispenser chute/crusher path
  • Helps maintain consistent dispensing and minimizes stray ice inside the freezer
  • Replace if cracked, warped, or missing
  • Symptoms include erratic dispensing, ice spilling or jamming, or a visibly damaged/missing guide on the ice bin
What's included: 1 ice container deflector
  • Disconnect power before servicing; remove the ice bucket
  • Position the new deflector in the original location; reuse existing screws/clips if applicable
  • Ensure the curved face points toward the dispenser chute
  • Reinstall the ice bucket, restore power, and test ice dispense

Cliff for Model Number FFSS2315TSO

Frigidaire Fridge model FFSS2315TSO with Frigidaire Part 240507202 Refrigerator Deflector Unit - Question 1. Is this piece really needed? 2. Can the ice maker unit do without this part? I do not know how to install it. I looked at all the comments below and I looked at the top view, and I can't figure out what the side arms attach to. I also looked on youtube and don't see how this is installed. I wish you can make a video on this. All your videos I see do not include this Deflector unit so that is why I asked question 1.

Answer

Cliff, It is recommended to have the deflector in place because when the ice is being dispensed it will help keep the ice from building up in front of the ice bin. As for how to install it. The hook parts go over the side and the little lip on it will face the back of the freezer.
