Customer Questions and Answers for High-Voltage Diode Kit (Microwave) by Frigidaire

4.89 (64)
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: OEM9662217
Manufacturer Part Number: 5303918287

This microwave high-voltage diode kit converts AC to DC in the high-voltage circuit so the magnetron can heat. Replacing a failed diode often restores heating performance. What it does:

  • Rectifies high-voltage AC to DC for the magnetron
  • Completes the high-voltage circuit with the transformer and capacitor
  • Common failure symptoms include running but not heating, loud humming/buzzing, or blowing a fuse/tripping a breaker at start
  • Visual clues can include cracking, swelling, or burn marks on the diode
What's included:
  • One high-voltage diode
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; microwaves can retain lethal voltage even when unplugged
  • Properly discharge the high-voltage capacitor before handling components; use insulated tools and approved procedures
  • Note diode orientation/polarity and mounting; install exactly as the original

Broke Fridge for Model Number FRS26LF7DS7

I have a Frigidaire model FRS26LF7DS7. The other night while getting water we heard a loud pop and smoke started coming out of the water dispenser front panel. Nothing would work on the dispenser and none of the lights would come on, on the front panel. We replaced the circuit board and everything seemed to be working. Water dispenser and lights were working. But then we noticed there was very little, to no ice being made. Also the water dispenser started to randomly squirt out water throughout the day and night. This is completely different than leaking. The water would spray out in a stream. From researching on line it looks like what needs to be replaced is the refrigerator fill valve diode. Part number 5303918287. Does that sound correct? My other question is, I don’t see this part number listed as being a part for my model number. I just want to make sure this part will work with my model number. I’d hate to install it and blow something else up because it is the wrong diode. I took the back panel off of the fridge and can see where it has a diode similar to this. How can I find out if Part number 5303918287 is compatible with my model FRS26LF7DS7? Thanks in advance.

Answer

Broke Fridge, The diode is not listed on your model number but will work for your unit and does sound like this would be the issue with the ice and the water dispenser.
