Bob B Can a dirty air filter cause the water valve to quit sending water to the ice maker? It is a Frigidaire Galaxy and I'm not even sure it has a filter. I replaced both the valve and ice maker some time ago and all was working fine when it suddenly quit working. It is not getting water and I have tried thawing the water fill tube. I haven't tried switching sides to see if the valve sends water to the ice maker but not water when the wires are reversed. Just wanting to save a little work and crawling around behind the fridge to replace the valve if the filter could be the culprit. Thanks!
Answer Bob, The filter will not cause the unit to not make ice but still dispense water. With this issue you will want to check to make sure that the fill tube that goes into the icemaker is not frozen.
