Bubba, the handle 316026105 is the same as the original white handle used on your model except for black in color. From the picture we have available it looks to be plastic but we do not have the specs on the part to guarantee that it is 100% plastic. Yes, the handle can be painted using an appliance paint. For appliance spray paint in white use part number 350930 and for touch up paint use part number 72017. Thanks!
