Bob for Model Number Frigidaire Affinity AGQ7000ES1 I have a gas dryer (120VAC) that runs fine but absolutely no heat whatsoever. I hear no clicks for the relay coil (gas valve) so I don't think the sensors or ignitors come into play. I have read that it could be the ignitor, the thermostat, or the thermistor. I a a dummy electronically and was hoping that the field could be limited and/or a SIMPLE VOM pocess of elimination be provided. The access is the front panel so I cannot run the machine and look to see what is happening . . .
Answer Hello Bob, You would want to do a continuity check on the thermostat and thermal fuse to check to make sure that they are good. If there is not continuity then they are bad. You would check continuity by taking off the leads on the part and checking across the terminals to see if you get a reading. If you do not get a reading then it is open. You would have to do an amp draw on the ignitor and should read 3.2 to 3.6 amps and if not then the ignitor is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
