Jeff M. for Model Number GLGQ0332AS1 My dryer wouldn't heat. I removed the front panel and removed the ignitor assembly. When it hit the metal mount bracket, it heated up and broke. I know I need a new one of those. My question is why would it heat up if the dryer was not turned on. Is there a problem with a control part?
Answer Hi Jeff. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Get to the timer part # 131789200 and unhook the yellow wire. This is the output to the heat circuit. Check on that relay terminal now to see if there is supplied voltage (120 vac) there now. If so then your timer contacts are stuck closed and needs replaced. The centrifugal switch in the motor controls the neutral side of the circuit. So if it was stuck shut, you wouldn't get 120 vac from that side to the igniter part # 5303937186. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, June 15, 2012
