Steve for Model Number FGHN28844LEO I moved the refrigerator to clean behind and under it. After I re-leveled it, we noticed it was not getting as cold in refrigerator, but the freezer was fine. Last night I saw a small opening at the bottom center of the french doors, there was light coming from it. The lights were not turning off and it was very warm in side and the bulbs were so hot it melted the liner on the top area. I can seal the cracked/burned area and I removed all the bulbs and the refrigerator is cold again. What do I need to do to get the light to go off? I can't find a switch like in the freezer. What controls the lights? Is it a magnet?
Answer Hello Steve, If the model number is actually FGHN2844LE0, the refrigerator door opening is determined by a magnetic switch on the user interface. You should make sure the magnet is present and the doors are closing properly so the lights can go off. If this does not turn the lights off you will need to replace the user interface board 242048320. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, May 18, 2017
