The part number on both the new and old are the same, but the connection on the ribon cable is not the same. Does the plastic end on the new cable need to come off?
Answer Hi Jim. The switch membrane part # 316549114 is not pictorially shown in the parts breakdown in any view (ours and other resources). The white plastic cover is a protector that needs to be kept together with the ribbon cable tight up until the very point of contact. Be very careful to insert the cable and align the #1 pin correctly. You have the supplied wiring diagram in the control panel or in to the units inner frame after you remove the storage drawer.
