John for Model Number Frigidaire I have a Frigidaire Oven, (not sure the model number) that smells like gas when I use bake. I do not smell the gas when using the stovetop or broil. The oven heats, the piece of metal (I believe this would be the igniter) heats to a bright orange and ignites the gas, creating a steady flame on both sides of the burner. I'm not sure what the next step is to checking and repairing the oven. Thank you, John
Answer Hello John, without a model number we can only give a general answer for this. If you are smelling raw natural gas only when the bake burner is in use, access the burner tube and check it is in place correctly and the air shutter is 3/4 open and the ports along the tube are not corroded/rusted or blocked. Also if there is a gas supply tube from the bake burner to the gas valve check for any leaks along the tube especially at the fittings, you can use a soap solution and check if bubbles are showing indicating a leak point. If a new bake burner tube is needed we will need the model number to find the correct part. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, June 23, 2020
