Dave for Model Number FRT21FD3AW5 The icemaker is not working in our refrigerator (it only has ice, not cold water). I checked the water valve for resistance and that seems fine, but when I checked the incoming voltage in the plug that attaches to the valve, it only showed 26 volts. Do you know if this is the expected voltage, and if not, what could be wrong or need replacement? Thank you very much.
Answer Dave, You will want to make sure that the icemaker is cycling when you test the voltage at the valve. Also pull the icemaker out and check to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. If the fill tube is frozen then you will want to replace the water valve due to seeping. If there is no voltage getting to the valve then you will want to replace the icemaker. Read More...
