The Replacement Icemaker is an OEM part for Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerators. It serves the critical function of automatically producing batches of ice cubes on demand. Note: The Icemaker Kit comes with an adaptor harness that may be needed for some applications. The harness converts a 4 pin connector to a 3 pin connector.

Causes of a malfunctioning icemaker can vary. They may stem from failed control sensors affecting conductivity and freeze times, scaled or corroded water lines, or an ice basket mold with broken fins and louvers.
Symptoms of a bad icemaker include:

  • Reduced or inconsistent ice production
  • Ice cubes getting jammed or fused together
  • Water leaks or spray inside the freezer
  • Strange sounds or mechanisms not working

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Randy for Model Number GLHS66EEB5

Over the years, I have bought a water valve and ice bin from AppliancePartsPros and have been very satisfied with the products and support. It seems I will be needing that support once again. The ice maker has stopped making cycle. It no longer cycles where it will open the tube or valve to get water. I'm still able to get water from the dispenser, although the water is not cold at all. The fill tube is not frozen. Do I need a new ice maker? Or could there be another problem with the fridge? Thanks.

Answer

Randy, If the icemaker does not go through the cycle at all then this will be a faulty icemaker. If the icemaker is cycling then you will want to check to make sure that the water valve is getting 120 vac to it when calling for water. If there is power then the valve would be the issue and if there is no power then the icemaker would need replaced.
