Matt L. for Model Number GLER104FSS0 Recently my dryer started acting up. It would start and heat up as normal but would turn itself off before the timed cycle was complete. A couple of times I would push the start button and it would sound like it would briefly attempt to start but then nothing. After a few tries it would work for a time but then quit again. I noticed that at first when the door was open the inner drum light would not be on. After cycling the door switch a few times the light would come on and the dryer would work. Today I ran the dryer and it completed a cycle normal. Upon attempting to run a second cycle it started for a few minutes then stopped. Now when I open the door the light will not come on inside and nothing happens when I manually push and cycle the switch and nothing happens when I push the start button. I suspect that the door switch may be bad? Or is there something more that might be wrong. Should I start with replacing the switch and go from there?
Answer Matt, The door switch would be a good place to start testing. Check to make sure that with the switch pushed in that you have continuity between the blue and the gray wire. If there is not continuity then the switch is definitely bad. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, May 14, 2015
