Gundalf for Model Number feq1442eso This dryer works normally with heat on, but when it has been running for enough time to get hot, it starts getting noisy (loud roaring sort of sound) and the rear heating area on the rear of drum gets hot enough to burn your fingers when you touch it. When you turn the heat off it cools and runs quietly again... I've totally cleaned the entire vent system from intake to outside with no improvement. There was a wad of hair and lint on the fan blades and the center shaft that seemed like it could cause the fan to slow and cause overheating. I removed it and it seemed to improve things but the problem still came back. I tested the heating element and it registered .011on the ohm meter, with no shorts. I tested the high limit thermostat and it was closed but opened when placed on a hot frying pan. HELP!!!

It is normal for the back by the element to get that hot and the reason nothing should be put behind the dryer. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, September 25, 2013
