Mike for Model Number affinity gas dryer FASG7074LWO My affinity dryer had blown thermistor on burner side. I replaced it and it blew again. I replaced it again and thermostat on burner side and thermistor still blew again. The machine will run on low heat if I bypass the thermistor. When taking it apart for third time I forgot to unplug (I know stupid right) and accidently touched the lamp wire to the cabinet and caused the whole dryer to go dead. Now I have a dead dryer with a blown thermistor. I cleaned out ducts and checked all other thermostat and limiter on the exhaust side. Checked out ok My questions are 1)did I blow the main board when I caused an arc with the lamp wire and is that why I have a dead dryer 2) can a bad board cause the the thermistor to blow as well? 3) If I replace board and thermistor should I be Ok? 4) HELP. my wife wants her dryer!
Answer Hello Mike. It does sound like you blew the control board. As for the thermistor, it sounds like a venting issue. Check the blower wheel on the unit and try running it without the vent pipe hooked to it. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, December 5, 2013
