The Control Thermistor is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. This component plays a critical role in regulating the temperature inside the dryer by monitoring the internal conditions and sending temperature data to the control board. The control board then uses this information to adjust the heat cycle, ensuring clothes dry evenly and safely.

Symptoms of a failing control thermistor include:

  • Clothes not drying properly or cycles running too hot or too cold
  • Frequent stopping or starting of the dryer
  • Error messages related to temperature or sensor issues displayed on the control panel

Causes of control thermistor failure generally involve faulty wiring, accumulation of lint and debris affecting the sensor's accuracy, or wear and tear from regular use that leads to degradation of the sensor components.

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Answer

Peter, There is no EF2 error showing on the tech sheet for this unit. As for the EF error codes they are for blocked duct, a bad exhaust thermistor, inlet thermistor or a faulty control board. You will want to double check venting from the blower wheel to the outside of the home to make sure that there is no blockage. You can also disconnect the hose from the back of the unit and run a load to see if it still does the same thing, if it does then test the control thermistor and the inlet thermistor for resistance. If they both check ok then the issue will be the control board.
