The manufacturer has replaced the original [241791601] water filter with the ULTRAWF filter, which is a factory-direct replacement part "ULTRAWF replaces 241791601, 242294401" and should have no difficulties replacing the filter. We have no idea of "a way to obtain the older version' other than contacting local parts and service dealer or on the internet.
