Curtiss for Model Number GTW330ASK2WW We have the one-piece agitator with the bolt deep inside under the fabric softener cup. The bolt doesn't tighten or come out, I am told it just spins. Any suggestions? The agitator had gotten looser and looser and now will not agitate although the motor is running. Everything else has been checked out and eliminated. And before it stopped agitating completely it made awful noise intermittently. The problem is getting the agitator out. Again, this is not a two-piece where you can line up a nipple put a screwdriver in a hole, and pop it off. If the bolt is just spinning can it be pulled loose? Also concerns me that threads might be stripped as well. The first goal is to get that bolt out. Once we do that then we can order the replacement part. Also, we will need to order a new bolt. Apologies. On the agitator bolt issue. And it is a bolt, not a screw. I have just looked at it myself. The bolt is solid and the agitator just spins, he was not making himself clear. So the bolt is frozen. Are there any tricks to get it loosened up and out of there? I don't know if standard methods apply here. He kept saying he was going to take everything apart from underneath and I told him not to do that, it would not work. So please any suggestions? I just know complicated ways that he could do damage, so if you have a safe and easy solution please share.
Answer Curtiss, Try using an impact gun with a long extension to get the agitator bolt out. You may need to use a penetrating oil to get the bolt out. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, October 4, 2023
