F.B. for Model Number GE P7 Double Wall Unit Ovens The bake heating element in my old GE oven burned out (a WB44X169). I happen to have on hand a nearly new WB44X200 element. It appears to fit the space in the oven. What are the possible problems if I install the X200 as a replacement?
Answer Hello F.B., The two most common problems with an incorrect element are that the element is too long behind the mounts and the wiring contacts the unit chassis and trips the breaker and burns the wiring AND incorrect wattage. The disadvantage to incorrect wattage is that the unit will not hold proper temperature in the bake compartment so recipes will not come out right. Read More...
