Steve for Model Number JRP14GJ Ok, I was able to pull the element out far enough an it was attached to the electrical wires by screws. I unscrewed the screws and removed the old part but when I when to attach the new there were three wires. One white, one red and a black and only two prongs to the element. I look up on the website and in books and I thought I should put the white only and I put the red and black together and when I turned the broiler on a light flashes where it shows the the oven is on-that light that shows the oven is on, and now nothing works. Did I fry the whole oven or just a fuse? Does the oven have a fuse?I havent want to try any thing else at this time. Does it make sense then to put the red with the white and the black by its self?
Answer Hello Steve. It sounds like you shorted the unit out at the Thermostat assembly WB21X5320. You will need to look on the unit and locate the wiring diagram. It should show you which wires go where on the element WB44X173. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, January 20, 2012
