Sandy N for Model Number JVM1640WJ01 When I bought my house 10 years ago, this microwave was already installed. I don't find anything online on this model except for countertop. It's a GE SpacemakerXL Microwave Oven - above the range. I'm trying to figure out if this is supposed to have a charcoal filter. The owner's manual says "Charcoal Filter (on some models)" and the part number is WB02X10943. The part number I'm finding is AP3203130. "On some models" in the manual is hardly a helpful statement. Because we didn't buy and install it, I'm not sure if it's vented to the outside. I have the feeling that it is. If it's vented outside then maybe that's why I'm not finding anything on a charcoal filter that matches the information I have for my microwave. Please help. Thanks.
Answer Sandy, you should only need the charcoal filter, WB02X35607, if the microwave is set up to recirculate back into the room. If you have vent running from the microwave to the outside of the home, you do not need a charcoal filter. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, May 5, 2015
