Bill for Model Number g25kgmbww The freezer is working fine but the fresh food is not. When I first plug it in the damper opens for about 12 hrs and then closes.I replaced the mother board and when I pluged it in the freezer still works fine but the damper closed only after a few minutes. Is the damper bad?
Answer Hello Bill. No, it sounds like the damper is fine in the unit. The issue may be that the temperature sensor WR55X10025 is getting false reading and will need to be replaced in the unit. It should read around 10k when tested at room temperature. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
