B for Model Number SCB1001SS The display on my GE profile advantium 120 microwave oven has faded (no longer bright) and is flickering/jumping some. We can still use it but sometimes need to flip the breaker to reset it. I ordered and installed WB27X10856. When I installed it and turned the breaker back on, the screen said "turn dial" - when I turn the dial a bunch of fragmented parts of words show...I can push the button on the dial and the options button and they both beep. Eventually, I was able to turn it and push the buttons enough to get the clock set. Now, it is much brighter (so seems to have fixed the fading) but it is still flickering a bunch and is difficult to use. This flickering does not get worse or better as I turn the knob. I next ordered and installed WB27X10858 - Main Control Board - Pwb(pcb) Asm Sub and then WB17X10021 - Low Voltage Transformer. Nothing changed. Then, I replaced WB27X10861 - Power Board and everything is now working well. My question is if it safe to assume that I can put the original parts back in for the digitron WB27X10856, Main Control Board - Pwb(pcb) Asm Sub and WB17X10021 - Low Voltage Transformer as the power board appears to have been the issue? Or, do you see these other parts fail next usually? I just need some guidance here.
Answer B, sounds like there were multiple failures there. As one part fixed the dimness and another fixed the flickering. If old parts are placed back on and voltages are wrong it could cause damage to any new part. It would be recommended to leave it as the issue is fixed. These units have a history of multiple parts being an issue with the display. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Saturday, January 14, 2023
