Susan for Model Number GE washer wwa5400p This is a very old 1976 GE washer. It will not agitate, spin or drain. Just hums and smells like something is burning. Looking at your other answers I think it might be the drive belt. Do you think that is the answer? If so could it be something else also. This could be due to a faulty motor or timer contact, it could be as "major" as a transmission problem or as simple as a small article stuck in the drain pump.
