Manufacturer Part Number: WH1X2026

The Drive Belt is an OEM part for GE washing machines. It functions as a critical component that connects the motor to the drum, transferring power from the motor, which in turn allows the drum to spin during the wash cycle. Made from rubber reinforced with fibers, this belt is designed to withstand the stress of spinning and agitating motions.

Symptoms of a bad Drive Belt include:

  • The washing machine drum not spinning,
  • A squealing or screeching sound when the washer is running,
  • Visible fraying, glazing, or signs of wear on the belt,
  • The belt slipping off the motor or drum pulley.

Causes of drive belt failure typically include regular wear and tear from use, overloading of the washer which puts extra strain on the belt, or exposure to oils and other substances that can degrade the rubber.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Shonnie P

we have a roper. day before we smelled something like it was burning when it was spinning at the end of the cycle. last night we put a load in and it filled but did nothing else. this morning the washer would not come on at all. well it would make a noise like a hmmm but in a minute it quit that also. is it the motor to the washer or is it the belt. i did not have the model number, but could get it. yesterday we went ahead and washed a load of clothes but all of the water did not spin out.

Answer

Shonnie, Since this is a "Roper" washer, it's probably a "direct drive" washer, it would not have a belt. The issue could be an article stuck in the pump, bad timer or faulty motor. We'll need a proper model number from the serial tag, in order to assist and advise you properly. Thanks
