Brian S. for Model Number JTP45BA3BB Trouble Shooting and Repair Comment: After about 45 minutes into a self-cleaning cycle, I was getting F9 and F2 error codes that would abort the cycle. This would happen on only the lower oven. In addition to cleaning out the vents on the front and back of the oven and the fans themselves, I did the following since I noted that the middle spacer section fan (lower fan) was spinning in the direction of pushing air to the back of the unit instead of pushing the air out the front of the unit: 1. Turn the main breaker off. 2. Pull the double oven unit out of the wall cabinet. 3. Take the back panel off of the unit to get access to the middle section between the upper and lower ovens. 4. Remove the lower fan out of the middle spacer section from the rear of the unit. 4 screws. 5. Disconnect the 2 wires from the lower fan assembly. 6. Unscrew the fan motor COIL from its frame assembly. (Two screws that can be accessed through the fan blades area; the screws are behind the fan blades.) 7. After removing the 2 screws in #6 but before pulling the fan motor assembly apart, note which side of the fan assembly the electric terminals are on (where the wires were connected to in the unit). 8. Now, slowly pull the fan motor coil (big black metal chunk) off the back of the fan assembly. Keeping the electric terminals on the same side of the fan assembly, flip the fan motor coil over 180 degrees and slide it back onto the fan assembly. 9. Put the two screws that hold the fan motor and frame assembly back in and reinstall the fan assembly into the oven. (The wires that go back onto the fan motor terminals can be put on in either terminal. Be careful to not stretch the wires as the terminals may now be further away than they were originally. If necessary, you may need to lengthen the wires by creating a jumper extension. Mine were just long enough that it didn't need the extension.) If the above is done correctly, the fan will now spin in the other direction and be blowing out the front of the unit. I have no idea why this fan appears to have been built wrong, but the above procedure allows the ovens to go through a self-cleaning cycle without setting any error codes! So check the cooling fan air flow direction on your unit to be sure they are pushing air out the front of the unit.
Answer Brian, Thank you for that information as it will most likely be useful to others. Although this is not a likely scenario that occurred with your unit it is possible but checking the cooling fan is always a good choice. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, January 3, 2017
