By: Ge
Part Number: OEM11621490
Manufacturer Part Number: WD22X10043

The Filter & Gasket Assembly is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. This part traps food particles and debris during the wash cycle, preventing them from redepositing on dishes or clogging the drain system.

Causes of a bad Filter & Gasket Assembly can include wear and tear from regular use, accumulation of hard water minerals or detergents affecting the gasket's seal, and damage to the filter mesh that allows larger particles to pass through or clog the assembly.

Symptoms of a bad Filter & Gasket Assembly include:

  • Poor cleaning performance, with food particles left on dishes after a cycle
  • Water leakage around the dishwasher's base, indicating a compromised gasket
  • Unpleasant odors from trapped food particles that are not properly filtered out

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Answer

Hello. You do not remove the sprayer first. You will insert the screw driver under the spray arm in the hole and unscrew the spray arm assembly. These are not glued down, but can be tight. Hope this helps.
