Mike for Model Number JVM 1870BF 001 Micro wave is totally dead, tried to plug into a known good outlet with extension cable, no change. I had read the fuse is a possibility. Can you tell me how to get to the fuse? Or any other recommendations to try? Thank you, Mike
Answer Mike, There are actually a couple of fuses in this unit but the one that is most common would be the ceramic fuse. To access this you would need to remove the air grill by removing 3 screw across the top edge of the cabinet that hold the grill in place. Slide to the left and remove. Then you would remove 1 screw holding the control panel in place. Make sure that the unit is unplugged from power supply. At this point you should be able to see the fuse and you should be able to replace from this point. Typically what will cause this to fail would be a faulty door switch in which the manufacturer recommends replacing all 3 door switches. Read More...
