Mike, According to the diagram it appears that there may be 2 screws on the interior of the door that you would have to remove if the upper screws did not allow the handle to come off. To do this you would need to open the door fully and there is a swing arm on the hinge that you will need to raise up that when you close the door it will stop the door from closing all the way. Once this is done you will then push up on the door and lift the door off. Then remove the front panel and you should be able to access the screws to replace the door handle.
