Peter for Model Number JGBS07DET1WW The oven was not lighting or heating so I ordered a replacement igniter as I've done with several other stoves in my building. When I went to replace the ignitor, I noticed that that one of the two wires connected to the gas safety valve had burned and melted onto the one of the diodes. Called GE and there is no replacement wiring for this model. Can I just trim off the burnt portion of the wire and reconnect? What causes the wire to burn in the first place? Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Answer Peter, Yes you can terminate the connector currently on the wire and put a new connector on. The normal cause for a burnt connector would be that the connector overheated from a bad connection. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, December 15, 2016
