Maureen for Model Number JGS968S0H3SS Need to replace oven ignitor. Unscrewed the ignitor and pulled the wires through to oven. Found it odd that ignitor was spliced to wiring with ceramic wire nuts and from that point wiring was to a white plastic plug that was black/burnt/melted. On other side of plug are yellow wires. Can I cut out the plug, purchase an ignitor and splice directly into the yellow wires? Yellow wires seem short so what is the part that the yellow wires are attached to and can I just replace whatever contains the yellow wires with the original white plastic plug to plug in the new ignitor instead? Thank you.
Answer Maureen, The yellow wires will be part of the main harness assembly and would need to order that in order to get new wires. Unfortunately the manufacturer does not offer the wiring harness. The connector can be cut off the wire harness and spliced to the igniter. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, February 7, 2018
