Kathleen for Model Number JMP28GR1WH Been receiving a code F2 infrequently when using this YR1992 oven for roasting on temps around 400 degrees, but has also now started to do so when using the top elements. From my research the place to start seems to be the heating sensor. Seem correct? On GE's site it shows the part as WB21X5301, but the part here points to a Kenmore and does not specifically match GE's part replacement number. Does this mean I will absolutely need to pull out this "built in" unit of many years to get behind it to splice, because it may not be an accurate replacement? Thank you for your guidance, as I've previously ordered range top replacement elements and pans through your service and have been very pleased with the proper fit.
Answer Kathleen, You will want to test the oven sensor at the control board to make sure that it has a resistance of 1090 ohms at room temp. The F2 would indicate an overtemp and could be the sensor or the board. The oven sensor that is needed will be WB21X5301 and the unit would most likely need to be pulled out if it needs to be spliced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, April 9, 2018
