Part Number: OEM6071019
Manufacturer Part Number: WB21X5301

The Oven Sensor Assembly is an OEM part for GE ovens. This part monitors the oven's internal temperature, ensuring it matches the set temperature on the oven's controls. By accurately measuring the heat inside the oven, the sensor assembly communicates with the oven's control system to adjust the temperature accordingly.

Over time, the oven sensor can become faulty due to wear or damage, leading to inaccurate temperature readings. This can manifest as unevenly cooked food, longer cooking times, or an oven that fails to reach the desired temperature setting.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Sensor Assembly include:

  • The oven temperature is inconsistent with the setting
  • Food is not cooking evenly or as expected
  • The oven fails to heat to the set temperature
  • Error codes appearing on the oven display related to temperature regulation

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Matt for Model Number RGB746WEH2WW

I have a Hotpoint range model RGB746WEH2WW. It always is around 25 degrees less on the thermometer. If I try to preheat to 350 thermometer will say 325 when I hear the beep telling me oven is preheated. When I first got the oven about 9 yrs. Ago, thermometer matched heat temperature every time I used the oven at any setting. It would be at the exact temp. When the oven beeped too. Now I have to wait another 10 minutes after the beep to let it get to proper temperature and even then it would t always get there. The ECU board is brand new after I thought that because the pins where the molex plug on the end of the temp. Sensor plugged in showed a little more than 10 ohms this meant that board was bad. I was wrong despite reading that in a repair manual. The sensor itself has 1090 at room temp., Wires look good too. I haven't checked the bake igniter or bake burner yet. I probably should've tested those before I installed the new board. Is that how I should proceed? Any help appreciated. Hope everyone is staying safe. Take care.

Answer

Matt, First be sure that your thermometer is calibrated and measuring correctly. There is a chance your thermometer went bad and the stove is fine. Secondly, if the readings are good you could look in your owner's manual and adjust the offset to correct the temperature. If that does not accomplish the change needed the I would replace the oven sensor. Thanks for the question and hope this helps!
