Marcell G. for Model Number WHDRR418E4WW My washer agitates, and drains but won't spin. I have to ring the clothes before I put them in the dryer. The washer makes a humming sound but doesn't spin and the motor gets hot. It did the same thing about six months ago for about three weeks then it worked fine until recently (4 months later). It stopped spinning after I washed a huge blanket.
Answer Hello Marcell, This sounds like some stuffing probably came out of the blanket and has gotten into the area between the tubs. It will, if it hasn't already, get into the drain pump. I would recommend pulling the inner tub to make sure the stuffing material isn't wrapped around the shaft and remove all you can since it will destroy the drain pump if it gets into it. Read More...
